Tapos Game #2: Jump Jump and Jump | Retrospective
After a few months of resting and crafting our next game, we’re back with Tapos Game #2. From the challenge of surpassing the success of Game #1 to introducing innovative features that truly showcase the power of Aptos technology, we’re ready to leap higher!
So, the burning question is: How to make Tapos even cooler?
Journey to the launch
The main target: Build a game #2 with more than just boring spam clicks
Firstly, we’ve introduced more gaming features to enrich the user experience. The new shop feature caters to the growing preference for customization, allowing users to purchase and equip items enabling them to earn more points than usual. Additionally, we’ve introduced a “Mystery Box” feature, offering users a chance to gain HEART by testing their luck.
In terms of technology, Tapos Game #2 incorporates more of Aptos’ advanced capabilities. This includes the Aggregator feature, which provides both global and user-specific counters, as well as innovations like Social Login with a keyless experience and a Randomness API, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Moreover, we’ve partnered with other Aptos projects to introduce the “Tapos with Friends” initiative. For example, we’ve integrated VibrantX’s Cat Mission and added Social Task missions.
Our vision is to go fully on-chain, addressing the statement that “Tapos can't be exposed with complex transactions”.
Tapos Breaks the Record
Game #1 was one of the most challenging feats for us.
It wasn’t just overcoming external obstacles and pushing ourselves beyond our limits. The game’s high-performance demands tested our team’s innovation and resilience at every turn. However, the results speak for themselves — Tapos Game #2 broke records by driving Aptos to have the highest daily transactions across major blockchains. This achievement showcases our commitment to progress and ability to set new benchmarks in the Web3 gaming space.
We faced challenges during those critical 72 hours, but thanks to the great support and patience of our community, especially on our Tapos Telegram community, we were able to overcome the issues and keep things running smoothly.
What does the future hold for Tapos?
Tapos aims to be the CryptoKitties of the next generation of games on Aptos, leveraging the unique capabilities of this high-performance blockchain to redefine on-chain gaming. But why did we choose Aptos?
As we have mentioned above, we have applied multiple advanced technologies into our game, such as Aggregrator technology to handle transactions in parallel or randomness API in the Mystery Box feature, etc. A great thanks to our amazing community for your support and enthusiasm. The project successfully caused Aptos daily transactions to surge 300M+ total transactions in three days of Game #1 in May and continued breaking the record with 500M+ transactions on Game #2 in August.
Vision: Tapos is here to deliver the next-gen fully on-chain games, carrying out the mission from Crypto Kitties.
Game Mechanism: All in-game Tapos activities are stored on-chain and utilized BlockSTM and parallelized execution layers from Aptos.
